Delayed Delivery

Well I was supposed to pick up the D3 yesterday but got a call to say there had been a slight delay fitting some accessories! Still not ready today and can't collect now until Friday Evil or Very Mad

The salesman tells me that the workshop have had real problems fitting my driving lights and it has taken them 2 days so far Shocked he even mentioned that they had to take the dash out which I can't beleive is either true or indeed necessary. Has anyone installed the driving lights themselves and if so what needs removing? Needless to say I will be checking the interior dash trim very carefully at handover.

two bits of dash trim need to be removed, the one with the lighting switch in it and the large panel with the 'lap vent' in it, can't see why there'd be a problem unless they didn't get the wire into the CJB connector properly - and enabled it with IDS Rolling Eyes

I did my own, as per LR instructions and it took me about 5 hours work.

It is a bit tricky, but can't see why they had to take the dash out? The only thing I can think of is that there is a plug to remove from the CJB (I think) and it is an absolute sod to unclip. Maybe it jammed or something.

I'll bet they cut a hole wrong in either the dash or the bumper, and are waiting for replacements Wink

I was thinking on the same lines, they break a bit of trim or mis-cut it and stall for time. As long as it is right when I get it I'm not too fussed but if there is any loose or ill-fitting trim I won't be happy!

So a 3 day delay on delivery, me thinks let's ask for some sort of recompense. I know I'll ask them to fit my side strips and mudflaps for me by way of an apology. No problem says the salesman so I pop down with the bits, we can do your strips he says but I am getting grief over it, your mudflaps will be £149 please just for the labour Shocked

Cote, fronts are dead easy to fit, even I could do it. Rears a bit more fiddly, needs screwdriver with 90deg bend or rear wheels off. Both DIY jobs.

Make sure they put the strips on right - its dead easy to get them on wonky or at the wrong height (and no before you ask mine are OK coz I spent ages and ages getting their position right with masking tape)

Even I managed the mudflaps and I don't even know how to open the bonnet! I only had a stubby screwdriver too.
