Similar situation. Got a D3 this year but still have our '97 Grand Voyager which has done 174k. It's never let us down in 10 years and still getting daily use. Fuel consumption terrible as it's a 3.3 petrol. D3 far nicer to drive, but a lot smaller inside. We can get 4 bikes in the boot of the Voyager (with front wheels off) and still use all 3 rows of seats.
So far so good with the D3 and reliability. Hoping I can still say this at 14 years / 174k as per the Voyager.
And...I too have 7 children, so D3 won't take them all. At least between the 2 cars we have 15 seats!

7 Kids and can still afford to buy and run a Disco! There's a lot to be said for serving gruel these days

Blimey northerners are doing well , seven kids and can afford a d3 as well , I can just about afford my 2 kids , dog , and a d3 in London , 2008 ,hse, it does what it says .
