Right its not hard but I'm confused, how come nobody can do anything with these injectors ie repair them but you can buy service exchange ones ranging from £140 to £220 each do these all come from the same place Confused or is there some poleaxe making cheese nozzles in a gardon shed somewhere Shocked I was warned today that these maybe just ones that have been ultrasonic cleaned and past a test or there repaired with copied parts so how do i know what im getting, and is there supposed to be a warranty with them if so how long for,

I know i could just buy new ones from Nick and not worry about it but there's a big price difference Big Cry

Cheers

Woody

its my understanding that these are seimens and are only available from LR, two versions OEM NEW LR ones at £180ish plus vat, plus £50 surcharge for yer old one or service exchange ones/recon units which are around £30ish cheaper plus £50 surcharge.

In general, I would have yer existing tested whilst insitu by specialist before spending monies on having them ALL changed, IMO there is no reason to do them all at the same time, just seems to be "the way its done" rather than "it should be done" - a bit like ARB where often its easier to change the whole arm rather than the bushes. Whistle

The guys at Bristol are only £60ish per hour and WILL fit new ones at that price rather than £100+ at yer LR dealer Thumbs Up

LR RTS puts them down at 70mins per injector, these Bristol guys quoted me £400 to change all of em Thumbs Up

OEM LR are warrantied for 12 months BTW Whistle

Most of the 'Landrover exchange' ones are actually new, I have yet to see a reconditioned one from Landrover.
Reconditioned from other sources, well, if other injectors are anything to go by, the quality can vary so much.
from a 'clean' to new siemens
I personally would only use genuine.

Steve

Thanks mate just to clarify only 2 were showing up as possibly faulty on wiggs msv 2 so i removed all 6 and sent away for testing and the report back was all 6 injector nozzles and tips are badly worn so a small amount of leakage/dribbling on all 6.
So what i cant get my head around is where are these so called service exchange injectors coming from whats been done to them to make them service exchange if no parts are available, is it just a quick ultrasonic clean check the spray pattern then out the door or are all service exchange injectors coming from Siemens them self.

I Will give Nick a ring tomorrow to confirm prices i think he said around £248 each new + vat = £1785 and about £1550 for exchange ones.
I did find a company today that can do 6 service exchange injectors with 12months unlimited mileage warranty for £600 + vodka and tonic but again where did they come from whats been done to them Banging Head

Or i can get some from the company that tested my injectors for £175 each +vat and they wont charge me for testing which is about £120 for all 6 so total £1250 inc

My personal choice would be have them all back, stick them back in, find the two bad ones again, renew just those, & go from there.
If only two showed as faulty, I would suspect those two would have been worse in their 'tests'.
I don't send any away for testing, my previous experiences on other common rail cars has showed testing off car to be unreliable.

Spoke the fella that's tested my injectors and asked for them to be returned as i cant afford all 6 just yet Wink he had no problem with that and even offered to refund the testing fee if I bought the injectors off of him at a later date Thumbs Up I voiced my concerns with him about the service exchange side of things and he agreed and said he thought the same after speaking with me the first time and had looked into it and said the injectors are brand new not service exchange so what do you think, I'm temped but still agree steve's idea is best I need to come to a decision today on which way I'm going with this so any thoughts on this let me know Thumbs Up

Cheers

thought we were on to something regards the original post by Liston, however having now spoken to him it would appear to be the case of the gearbox judder showing up at the same time as the injectors - not related but he is going to run autologic to see if his is running fine now that its had new injectors for a while which is going to be very valuable info for all of us with the P02A2 fault code Thumbs Up
