Haynes workshop manual
i have emailed the company haynes workshop manuals to see if they are in the process of publishing a manual for the discovery 3 they replied saying they dont think it would be viable,
i am sure that if we can show this company of the intrested discovery 3 owners that would purchase there manual then it could possibley go to print
1st vote is mine
many thanks

I think the D3 is a bit too complex to warrant a "Haynes manual" but if it helps i'll vote in for it,it'd probably make interesting reading.

I'd buy one.
However, I tend to think the vehicle is so complex it would cost a fortune to produce and the number of people who DIY is too limited to produce an adequate return for them.

(best of luck to the Haynes people if they can dismantle and put back together a D3 and it still works) Never get mad - get even !!

I think the forum at large has covered most of it FOC TBH, I wouldn't buy one as I find the info on here more than adequate and trust worthy !

I think the LR workshop manual + this forum covers everything.
LR workshop manual gives you the process, but assumes all bolts are new, completely lubricated and will undo with a light push of a finger, and there is enough elbow space to fit yourself in the workspace.
This forum points out the parts you'll have to soak in penetrating oil, use a 6 foot breaker bar + swearing, cut off with a grinder, scrape your knuckles on, the plastic clips that will break etc etc Dennis

Haynes manual would be rather dull compared to the forum. Try asking a Haynes manual an urgent question when the car is on the drive in bits!Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

If you want a hard copy of a workshop manual, best bet is to subscribe to GTR/ToPix for a day or so, and print off everything you can, including wiring diagrams etc
Just keep the printer topped up with ink
Think the D3 is probably way too advanced for Haynes. Long ogne are the days of checking/adjusting tappets, and points etc My D3 Build Thread

Why would you buy a manual when all you need is either here already thanks to the fantastic people who have submitted "how to"s or is a quick question away?06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

If they do ever produce one I'm fairly sure the standard phrase "Disconnect the battery earth lead" would be replaced with "After connecting the faultmate"
