| Advice on BT Module please? |
|
My newly aquired SE has no bluetooth module I think because my Blackberry 9300 cannot connect from the 'My car' option on the phone - does this make sense, is it right?
The car has a switch with a phone and a symbol for a power switch on it with an oblong blanking cover above it.
Is this where the module goes and is there a connector behind it for the module?
Where can I get the right module for 3 network?
Any help or ideas much appreciated.
Regards,

What happens when you pull the switch, when you search for the bluetooth you should see Land Rover or Ford if you have a module fitted . It will be in thr right rear quarter panel in the boot or at the side of the centre consul near the radio and heater controls.
Read this post and contact Wiggs if you need a module.

Hi and thanks for this. The switch is a push on - push off type and is at the RH side of the radio. I will try again tomorrow with the switch in both positions and see what happens, if still no joy I will try Wiggs.
Thanks again,

Have you got the red and green phone buttons on the right hand side of your steering wheel? if not then is no phone kit installed - button on the centre dash will be there either way.

Ah! good point Woody - er no!
Note to self: 'Please engage brain before opening mouth'
Does this mean changing the steering wheel too, I guess so, or is there an alternative?
Looks like it is ging to be easier to stick with the BT ear piece Its all in the grip of the Tyre Fitters hand!

To get the switches on the steering wheel all you need to do is purchase the switch from TLO (about £40 i think) they just clip in/out, you will need to cut the rear cover but there is a template in the fitting instructions in the wiki part of this site (accessory section)

Yes anything is possible with a Land Rover, but I have always found the all vehicles with the factory fit MOST BT modules will have the phone controls on the steering wheel.
The after fit non MOST BT modules would depend if the person fitting it could be bothered removing airbag and steering wheel etc.
Ian ..so what can I fiddle with today that ain't broken ...?
