Depends on the film as to what's closest to factory. My tinter used solargard (a US product) and the closest they had (which is what I got) was about 23%; the alternative was 7%, which whilst I think its far better for the occupants in that it massively reduces glare, just looked a bit dark on my tonga green car.
As for different qualities, I'm pretty sure most of the recommendations you get from here will be fine, just do a bit of research. PAGODA

Factory tints on the wifes D3

After market "limo" tints on my FFRR

Pro's and cons for both - Limo tint is much darker both outside and inside in fact using the rear view mirror in daylight is similar to using an auto dimming mirror at night with a car following you Not being able to see in is nice but I'm not a great fan of aftermarket tints because of the more visible orange elements and the slightly cheap looking lighter line around the edge of the glass on rear and rear quarter light panels due to the "black dots" on the LR glass itself affecting how the film sticks to it
Didn't have a choice when I bought the FFRR though and I could always take it off

Two threads on same subject merged
Actually, I disagree and made a very concious decision to start two threads:
One post was asking for recommendations for tinters in a specific geographic location and therefore only really relevant to anyone with links to that location.
The other post was asking for advice on tints and tinting generally - and relevant to any forum member with experience or knowledge of tinting, or who wanted to know about it.
But, it's your forum... D3 54 (Nov 04) Zambezi - For Sale

I have to agree Calcul@tor, when I read the latest posts this morning I didn't remember commenting about Midlands based Tinting Companies and it now looks as though my opinion on factory/aftermarket tints has hijacked the wrong thread
