| reverse sensors gone weird any help appreciated |
|
hi everyone, the new problem is the reverse sensors, when i put it in reverse i just get a constant bleep and if i press the button on the dash it stops bleeping but i think it might switch the whole thing off, iv cleaned the sensors but since iv fiddled with the buttons its all gone to pot, it worked fine 2 days ago lol

Assume you have checked the settings on the dash via the button at the end of the indicator stalk ? Or have you used a different key to drive with ?. Would assume the settings are save on each separate key ?

Hello and welcome, it's been a while but I seem to remember its in the settings on the display in the clock pod. You can only access it when in park, auto dipping mirrors I think. Can you still adjust them manually? If not check your fuses. Club Exped trailer

Rob_whp is correct the settings are saved in each key so you could have each key set differently, you can access the settings via the 'i' on the end of the indicator stalk

Taken from my trusty manwel.
1. Turn the starter key to position I or II. Do not start engine
2. Select or store a drivers seat memory position
3. Select reverse gear, the exterior mirrors will adjust to preset position
4. Adjust the mirrors to the required dipped position
5. Perform the memory store procedure on the currently selected driving seat position
6. DOOR MIRROR DIP STORED will be displayed on the message centre accompanied by a single chime

It doesn't change the seat setting if you are doing the mirrors.
But I find you have to let the car go to sleep to get it to go back to where I set it.
But perhaps that is because I tend to do it when the engine is running........ Mark.

Chock the wheels!
Turn the ignition to Position 2, stick it in reverse and remove the parking brake.
Bend down at the rear of the car and put your ear to the sensors, they should be clicking as they send out their pulse. If one or more isn't clicking, it means that the sensor is faulty and needs replacing. Taking the rear bumper off isn't a bad job, half an hour perhaps. Sensors are about £40 each but come up second hand every so often.
Check the main loom that all the sensors are fed from too, as this sometimes gets damaged. That's about £30! A dog is truly man's best friend, Don't believe me? Well lock your wife and your dog in the boot of your car and 2 hours later open it and see who's happy to see you
