| Found a wee light, what is it for? |
|
Yesterday, I reached up to adjust the rear view mirror in my D3, and the back of my hand was illuminated by a blue light, which was coming from the front of the interior courtesy light fitting. Being a bloke, I have'nt dug out the still pristine and unused book of words in an attempt to find out what the light does, or why its there. My D3 is a bog standard GS spec, so I cant start to think what is for. (its only lit when I have my headlamps on).
Help me out folks. Is it time for a brew?

I think they refer to it as 'mood or ambient lighting', designed to cast a subtle glow down towards the gear lever etc

I noticed just after buying my D3 that when changing gear my hand seemed aglow with subtle light. I thought it was the moonlight shining softly down through the windscreen...
...not long after it suddenly dawned on me one night that it was cloudy outside. That was when I noticed the mood light in the roof fitting.

It's definitely pointing in the wrong direction to illuminate any of my 'vital bits'

Anyone ever taken their light apart? Any way to upgrade to a brighter led? Living in the city I barely ever see it .
