GVIF extension cable

Thinking of relocating my GVIF unit from under the passenger seat but clearly the limitation is the GVIF cable itself (the one with the blue plugs that connects to the LR SatNav DVD).

Does anyone know where I could get a ready-made extension or if I could source parts (plugs and cabling) to fabricate one? Would there be considerable signal/quality loss if I use approx. 5m worth of extension?
