Update

Had mine back the dealers, but could not find anything wrong. problem has also occured with the second D4 i bought as well.
have arranged for both to go back to dealers over xmas, to give them a better crack at the whip so to speak.
the problem only seems to occur if i use the park heater first thing. if you open the cr and allow just the system check to take place with out starting, there is no low battery warning.

can any one tell me what amp rating the batteries are in teh D4? i may look to get my own, but get something which way bigger that should be needed, to see if that helps the issue.
 Cheers
Keith

Same battery as D3 90Ah 950A, must be lead calcium. Best deal I got was from TLO! Problem is that he can't ship it using his couriers, so you'd need to arrange a D3 courier network delivery.

Hi
ok, have monitored this over the last week few weeks since the issue started. the problem only occurs in cold weather, i.e. temp below freezing point.
i have posted the same question in technical that i am about to ask here... can any one tell me if there is a different battery unit for vehicles sold in cold climates? if so, is there a part number? had sismilar issues on the first freelander my wife got, the problem was solved by the fitting of a "winter battery", which transpired to be waht was fitted to vehicles sold in a cold climate, simple, but worked.
 Cheers

Disco Steve
many thanks for the info. i think i will need to try and source a unit that will give a larger Ah that will fit in the space for the standard one.
 Cheers

United Kingdom 2010 Discovery 4 3.0 TDV6 HSE Auto Nara BronzeDiscovery 4

Had the Low Battery Warning Message appearing at random throughout November and December but no starting problems until i left it for 12 days whilst on holiday
Came back and the thing was totally dead
Land Rover assist called out and restarted it
Lasted 2 days and dead again
Land Rover assist called out and i took it straight to the dealer who checked it over and replaced the battery
Lasted 2 days and dead agian
Land Rover assist called out and took it staright to the dealer where its been for almost a week now. Sad

Will keep you chaps updated when sorted

Note: One thing i did notice was that there was a strange noise coming from near the fuel cap when i used the rear door handle sensor button to lock the car - maybe there;s a central locking fault.

I was having similar battery issues, but a couple of long 500km runs seems to have resolved them..........

Ok All
i have had the BMS module changed on my 2012 disco 4, and it appears to have solved the problem. i did get a low battery warning again yesterday, when i ran the park heater for the full 30mins, and the over night temp had dropped to -4 deg C, but all worked again fine this AM, looks like the problem is solved.
 Cheers

United Kingdom

I have recently set up my C-tec charger to charge through the tow socket, as per Mr H's arrangement.

The charger did its stuff and I still had the low battery warning this morning, without using the park heater either.

I do wonder if the sensor monitoring battery state is sick?

Alex
