You can getthet interface for $300 elsewhere so just source the cheapest one. Idea

Beside the terrain response knob would be better. You would then only lose one small storage hole.

If one can run everything through a PC DAB, music, video, cameras, nav. it may not matter too much where the small screen is placed as Rob said the glove box may be ok. Everything would run to the aux input so you only need the screen to adjust the settings.
