I have considered getting a set of winters but have heard lots of peeps say how bad they are in any sort of mud, like typical laning as on Salisbury Plain. I'd then be swapping wheels for each offroad jaunt. For what I do ATRs fit the bill perfectly and for the few occasions we have snow down souff I moderate my drive accordingly.

Just adding into this thread,
Can I still obtain goodyear wrangler mtr 19" for dico 3. Having trouble finding any, last discovery 3 wore them and were fantastic. People are trying to steer me (forgive the pun) to using AT's but the MT's coulndn't be beaten when pulling livestock trailers up grassy hills or driving about the shoot without tearing the place up. Used AT 2 18" on my disco 2 which lasted for 70K and were great all round but off road not that great compared to a mud tread pattern. Any help would be much appreciated cheers.

Hi DSL
Weather could be better, bit soggy under foot, frosts would help dry the land up somewhat!
cheers
