I tried to buy one from a showroom (Strats, NCL) and they detailed they cant sell them unless they have another in stock.
It was surreal, Is that HSE sold?, Nope, Can I buy it please?, Nope, Why not, Can't sell it... etc etc This new variant brings a fresh, more contemporary sense of design to the latest Discovery 4 line-up. Both the Black and White models blend high-end interiors with bold, contemporary colour schemes, giving the Discovery 4 a more upmarket look. In keeping with the core appeal of the Discovery 4, this Limited Edition offers on-road refinement to match most executive saloons, the versatility of a large people carrier and unrivalled off-road capability.

That's not a photo of the actual vehicle though, that's actually a photo of my car which is a MY11. Paul uses that photo in a lot of his adverts (He has a license to use it from me)

Since we have had the car, I have always felt that it just doesn't drive properly!
It never seems to be in the correct gear, the throttle is really stiff and has no sensitivity, and try as we might we can't get more than 22mpg!
It has been into the dealer 4 times, who says there is nothing wrong.
I have driven my friends disco 4 and it is a totally different car! Feels like it should feel!
I just can't be bothered with the car anymore, so decided to change for a new 2011 model which I test drove last week and was really impressed.
The change has cost 7k, so not too bad for a years motoring, considering ours has done 14k and will soon need servicing, taxing, tyres etc.

T7MBO - funny you should say that about the gearbox. I had a 52 plate TD4 auto FL1 (which had the BMW engine and ZF auto box) from new and it laboured like heck going up our hill. 6 weeks in, the dealer principal agreed to change it and the replacement was a completely different experience so I guess there are quality consistency issues with the ZF gearbox or its integration into the LR setup.
My MY11 D4 handles the same gradients without problems although it sometimes hesitates to change down until around 1,000 rpm. Fuel economy is also about 21-22 mpg with just me (12 st) and a coomute of 10 miles motorway and 4 miles city commute. The 4 miles is a killer as it can take 20-30 minutes. I've only done 5,500 miles in 12 months but its included a couple of decent runs and I returned 30+ mpg.
Is it good value for money ? For family reasons, any price for 4x4 since we had to be able to get to wildest Northumberland at the drop of the hat, so yes. This year - economically no. I washed it today when I had hoped to instead be driving in the snow getting it dirty.
Would I change it - not a hope in hell. Funnily enough, if I did it would be for a Panda 4x4 so I could chcuk it away when it broke - and they're tough little things as well. Disco 4 HSE SD V6
