echo everyones sentiments, truely horrific and no doubt the d3's driver and passengers will be mentally scared for life along with the emergency crews who attended, so sad at this time of year

I unashamedly drive a D3 to protect my family. This reaffirms why.
I'm glad the family is safe and my thoughts go out to the Audi driver's family. It's a rotten thing to lose a loved one like this but even worse because of the time of year. Christmas will never be the same for either family.

Jeez that is nasty, as DG says if it had been 2 'normal' cars then it would have been 5 dead

Unfortunatley it happens all to often, went out to a enault Senic recently that looked as bad, it had been hit by a small lorry which was not badly damaged.
A has been said good to be in a D3/4, only down side is they also take a lot more to cut if we have to cut people out of them

The D3 design team should get a pat on the back for designing a car which looks after the occupants

Horrible. That Audi looks like its already been in the crusher. Out of interest, what year was the A4? Its not necessarily all about it being a 4x4 'versus' a non-4x4.
I recall the 5th gear program where they crashed an old Renault Espace into a new one. The crash-test occupants of the old one were all 'dead', whereas the new one hadn't even deemed the crash severe enough to have deployed the airbags...2001 D2 GS (I must be mad!)

I have got some pictures of a horrific accident between an Audi A4 and a Discovery 3 G4 the Audi hit the Discovery which was doing the speed limit head on, The driver of the Audi was killed and the family of 4 in the disco were hurt but survived, the picture shows the Disco the cab intact but the audi as a ball of metal, apparently I am unable to post this picture, if anybody wants to inbox me I will send unless I get overwelmed.
I needed to shared this it makes me glad I own a D3

Ray
