character, you are looking too much into this! Tell me, how can they take you to court and argue you are driving a van and not a friggin disco that has been turned into a car derived van!
On your behalf I've contacted the CPS and sought their opinion, im expecting nada from them but is needed to take to the next level!

OK... here goes...
Had the D4 Comercial on the weighbridge today and it weighs 2,540Kg
Now for the science part:
It is a 2011 D4 Commercial SDV6 which is absolutely bog standard (poverty spec radio!) with the only options being metallic paint, towbar and factory fit towbar.
It has non-LR rear seats (Atlantech) which involve removing and remodelling part of the load base and full height load restraint.
Being poverty spec, it only has a space saver spare wheel.
I had emptied it completely (until I realised that my wife had stashed 250m of electric fence, associate poles, battery and power pack in there which I needed to dump to one side!) and I had splashed the tank to ensure that it read the required 90%.
Really sorry, but I was shortish of time and when I realised that it's some way over the weight in the guidelines etc, I hope that the straight vehicle weight will be of assistance...
It was weighed at Cardiff Council Highways at 11.16am with a waste ticket number of 53216
Hope this helps! D4 Commercial SDV6 - Baltic Blue
D1 300TDi... 2" lift, HD bumpers (both), detachable tow hitch, 9,500lb winch, 235/85/16 muds and plenty of other toys
