Drove 20 miles home with the GPS crossed out and also doing re sets on route with no joy.
Found "secret codes" thanks Martin and established that there is no GPS signals going to the system. Removed the l/hand plug and wiggled as much as i could with no change, the plug seams to be in good shape so can only assume that the conection at the antenna end is at fault or a break in the wire somewhere. Have not tried the seperate GPS arial yet as plugs are not the same. Will keep looking for a way to get at the antenna without doing damage to the roof lining.

Thanks for the offer Stew 46, have you got an transportable arial that has the same plug?
Strange thing on way to work this morning. Again GPS off sign but the system worked out the roads for me to follow to get to work, it then followed the car and also recalculated a new route for me and it got me to work and parking exactly correct but still no GPS showing. The only thing it would not do is calculate the arrival time, it will do the time to get to the destination. Indicating no GPS time signal.
From this it still looks like the no GPS imput is correct and the system is only working off internal signals.
