hi everyone
i have a 2005 Disco 3 HSE V8
i want to put 17 in inch rims on it (steel) for off road and keep the 19s for the road
is it true i need different calipers (for the front or both?)
if it is, is this difficult to do? (can i do it myself?), how expensive? second hand? and is it easy enough to do each time or would i get the smaller callipers and leave them on? will i notice the difference in performance on the road?
thanks for your help
i am located in australia if that changes anything
cheers

A lot of people upgrade from the std TDV6 Caliper Carrier brackets (and of course Disks) to the V8 ones you have. The V8 ones are better, so downgrading to the TDV6 you will notice some braking performance degradation.
ISTR that someone did some 18" steels either in Aus or in SA. that fitted, but I'm pretty sure you won't find 17" rims to fit with the existing disk setup.
You can of course change them yourself, follow the guidance in the Brake Bible in my signature below and just substitute the disks and caliper carrier bracket. Those are the only difference, the pads and sensors are the same How To ? - Change your Brake Disks Pads Shoes Sensors August 2011 NEW V1.6a
