Battery Light

Had car in this week for n/side EGR replace,

All fine on return at first.......after 2nd day SWMBO ha dstarted car 3 times no prob, 4th time nothing,just all dead not even able to lock car. I've replaced battery today as on testing it seemed completely shot (it's 5 years old in 6 weeks) and now have red battery warning light on ???

Sounds like either the alternator is shot, or whoever has replaced the EGR has disturbed the alternator wiring.

Just been out in car . 2 stop /starts and all dead again, had to jump it off to get home, brilliant!!! Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

Deffo sounds like the battery is not being charged then, trouble is the D3 takes a fair old whack of current when running, or even just "awake" so even a new fully charged battery won't last long without the alternator doing it's bit.

Yes totally agree, thankfully i had EGR's done at local L/R dealer so hopefully they may shed some light as to if they disturbed something in the process. Hope so. Funny tho driving it home just earlier there was no charge light illuminated ??

have you looked at the voltage output on the secret display on the nav screen,it should be between 12.5 to 14v . Thumbs Up

type in hidden screen on search bar it will all come up.all you have too do is go on main menu page and press top middle of screen for 6 sec then the left button until the number screen comes up then type in 753.its all on here if you have a prop ,mine at 14v when driving hope that helps
