Or potentially an alternator, as at 70 mph it should be keeping the battery fully charged Thumbs Up

The one from Land Rover gets my vote as with allegiance discount and a good warranty it's pretty good value.

The D3 is very hard on its battery with an unusually high charging voltage so if you are tempted by a non-LR item shop with real care regarding CCA and charging rates.

Top service from Guy Salmon Thames Ditton (Mark in service). Checked the altenator, battery, cleaned the terminals and cleaned the cars. Now running like a dream.

They remain an outstanding dealer Thumbs Up

Spooky - just stumbled across this thread; mine started doing this on the way to work this morning. It was -4 last night on th eway home, and then starting this morning; the engine was spinning over without any signs of firing up. Three minutes later, when accelerating out of the village it chugged and then went into safe mode. Stopped and restarted then all ok to work. Had to stop at least ten times on the way home though, 15 miles. Boo....

Well my issue has come back as soon as the cold weather did.

Same symptoms as usual, it gets cold, you start the car and drive off. Then wham Engine management system fault and limp home.Stop the car, lock doors, reopen door and restart. All ok for a bit then EMS fault again. Eventually the engine gets warm and all is ok.

So Strat**** checked again and decided it was a faulty engine coolant sensor. Great but not covered by warranty.

All fixed !!!!!! Nope

Next day same thing. So now the problem is to do with the accelerator pedal sensors. This time it is covered by warranty, but need parts.

Got called into work tonight, and about 10 miles Down the road at 70mph -4/-6 degrees
I lost all power and get engine system fault message
While coasting to find a safe place to stop finally get some power back to keep me rolling at about 20-25 mph
I assume this is limp mode??
After 30 seconds or so all power returns and off down the motorway I go as if nothing had happened??

I decided to try and replicate the fault
So this time put into sport mode and from a rolling start got to about 60-70 mph and got the ESF message again
I only wanted get it to fault again as I didn't catch the message last time it came up..

Hopefully mine will be this accelerator problem too

Could anyone who has changed there's give us an update

Thanks in advance
