I have today managed to get a large chip/ crack in my d3 heated screen.
Is there any info I need to be aware of when getting it replaced?
Thought it best to ask on here before I call auto glass
Thanks

I wouldn't call Autoglass!
Seems to be pot luck with Autoglass. Where I am they'll only fit the rubbish Chinese copy screens unless you pay for it personally. Privilege/Direct Line won't pay for OEM glass as windscreen cover is apparently a gift! (Obviously they insist you use Autoglass to make the scam work)
Apart from that, make sure they replace the 'A' pillar clips properly. Big shock when they start flapping on the motorway.
Having said all of that... I have heard some people have had better luck with Autoglass fitting Pilkington screens which aren't so bad.

had a similar issue a few months ago, my excess was the same as the cost of buying a LROEM non heated
BTW make sure you buy the new clips for the osf and nsf side trims as they will break when taking off, might also be worth getting 5 or 6 extra ones for the skuttle panel (the black plastic bit across the bottom of the screen).
Worth finding from your local LR dealer who does their screens as its worth getting someone who knows, dont want water coming in

Have had 2 (or is it three ) screens through Autoglass and couldn't tell the difference between the Pilkington ones and OEM ones side by side, apart from no LR badge. Only minor issue I had is that I had to take the RAI off & put it back.

You'll find Pilkington and oem one's are the same apart from the LR stamp on the glass. Made at same factory just certain batches are silk screen stamped as ordered.
Ask for oem LR stamped as some insurance company's will let you do this and some won't.

For what it's worth, autoglass fitted a LR branded new screen for me this morning with new clips and job done in an hour.
Now I've piped up it'll probably drop out tomorrow.

Seems to be very much a case of pot luck... unless they are fitting different glass for different insurance companies? Trust me, once you've had the Chinese copy glass you won't want to use them again on anything remotely new!
