Hello,
Im new to this site and am just about to buy my first disco 3so thank you everybody for the great posts i have been trolling through them gathering advise.
But a couple of questions:
1. I viewed a car today and the dealer said he had seen some smoke previosly under the engine bay of the car on the near side by the wheel where a little exhaust/vent pipe drops out from the engine bay. The pipe comes from a little box just behind the water filler tank iv linked to a image on here although the box isnt on this pic but the box is in the place of the round silver cap behind the water filler tank.
He said he though it was some sought water heater for quick start??
Anyway is this something to be concerned about and what is it?
Also should the suspension lift up and down evenly or should the front go up first and then the back?and vice versa
Thank you for the help in advance

The smoke is from the Fuel Burning Heater (FBH) which helps the engine reach temp quicker in the winter (< 5 centigrade).
The suspension has a mind of its own. It doesn't always go up that evenly, but the difference shouldn't be that great.

Smoke from behind left front wheel is the webasto running. This is an engine heater that can be easily modified to become a preheater.
Suspension up and down is not entirely even, nothing to worry about. 1951 Series One 80" 1600cc Deep Bronze Green

nothing to worry about, fuel burning heater, comes on in the morning when temp is below 5 deg, helps car heat quicker. they all have it

A minor point, but ISTR the back should go up first and the front drop down first on the air suspension; something to do with not dazzling other road users?

I thought the back just went up first because it's not as heavy as the front!

No - the back starts raising first and starts lowering last to prevent the dipped beam from ever pointing above it's standard angle and dazzling people.
Sometimes it seems that the front won't raise until the back is finished, other times it seems to start raising when the back is still going up, but when raising the car, the front will always trail the back and vice-versa 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Auto Buckingham Blue
