Do we would think I should get it checked or wait too see the mpg on a run? It is very very hilly where I live and the max journey to date has been 20 miles

I had to venture out this morning to drop off at LHR so took the disco... Didn't display the no power symptom first thing so thought 'great' however a 24mpg run motorway all the way and cruise set at 65-70 tells me that everything is not so great. Coming back got 27mpg which is nearer the mark so I'm now even ore confused about what my car is doing??
What does the egr do exactly??

Just driven home from Southampton (36 miles) reset the MPG and shows 27.7 mpg, this was a mix of b roads a roads m27 a31 and country lanes, not hanging about either! So I would say your MPG was a bit low. I do around 80 miles a day and average 30mpg this is keeping around 60ish and when I push it return around 27 to 28 MPG D3 2.7 TDV6 Man HSE

Car back from colliers in Erdington 2 EGR valves replaced under warranty and a truely first class service from
Colliers.
Can feels..... Right again!!

It must be catching, mine's just done exactly the same (57 plate), nothing under 2k, some black smoke and about 25mpg. Cars now in for 2 x EGR's under warranty.
So Lali, whats up with your 968 so I know what is coming on mine!
