Hi
a friend has a problem with audio unit ...
here is his message:
Quote:1. D3 is my 2005 with a classical radio CD, I just bought an item with 6-CD 2007, the radio is nice but the person I sold it 40 euros because it does not turn short I rises, lights, radio "works" stations parade, when you fall on the right channel it displays the name of the radion but the problem is that I have no sound, then does it come from years of radio so it's really a problem of radio??

Hi,
I own an 05 tdv6 disco 3 , with low mileage, which I use for heavy duty towing, and have owned it ffor 4 years. It is certainly the best land rover I have ever owned. Recently the sound system packed up completely, and as the car had not been used for 2 weeks and there was avidence of a mouse having been in occupation, I suspected they had eaten through some wiring.( previously this had happened to a Rover 75 and caused £450 worth of damage )
Both a car audio specialist and now a LR main dealer have confirmed the problem is with the amplifier under the driver's seat, a live feed exists and there is no damage to wiring or fibre optics. Cost of replacement is £380 approx incl vat plus labour, around £480 in total. Does anyone know if harmon cardon or any specialist will repair the amp, I have found a local firm willing to look at it, but no guarantee of success and naturally I would be paying around £100 just to have a go.
Any feedback would be welcome, Many Thanks. John.
