Dam site better looking now than it used to.
Concrete city with the ice rink and a most memorable, crofters night club! There is no such thing as bad weather, only the wrong clothes.

I would recommend:
Bridge Inn, Aviemore
Boat Hotel , Boat of Garten
Andersons, Boat of Garten
The Clockhouse , Tomintoul ( but not sure when it re-opens - possibly at Easter )
If The Clockhouse is shut when you will be there I think Andersons is probably the best food, but Boat Hotel is a nice place - and serves real ale.
There is also if you want Michelin type eating The Cross , Kingussie ( but v expensive - £50 per head or so )
