help needed removing a rounded reverse thread bolt
7mm hub lock on my a/c pulley is 1) seized solid and 2) now partially rounded. I'm going to need to take the radiator and a couple of hoses out to have half a chance of getting it out, but all the extractors I can find work using a reverse thread, which won't work here as the bolt in question already has reverse thread. In short, an Irwin extractor or easy-out will only tight the bloody thing.
Any engineering types out there got any suggestions? At 7mm the head is too small to try a slot and impact driver

i used a left hand drill bit on my broken bolt , so may be a right handed drill bit , have you looked on internet for right hand easyout -------------------------------------------------
if you cant hold on dont let go , it ill come in handy for something even if you never use it.

DO NOT DRILL OUT THAT 'BOLT'!!!!
It is part of the aircon central pulley and is in fact not a bolt at all.
See your other aircon thread. It is (or was) an a/f sized spanner.Bodsys Brake Bible

Not exactly sure of the fastener in question or the access (do you have a pic?) but I find Knipex Cobras pretty handy when I find difficult and damaged LH thread fasteners. The geometric self-lock and bitting teeth make them a modern marvel for any mechanic.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948
Cheers bodsy. 9/32 (7.1mm) was marginally too large and 1/4 was too small. 7mm is (or at least was) a perfect fit. Is that spindle replaceable? It's utterly rogered.

Is the thing steel? If it is, is it possible to mig a larger nut over it. Checking back on topix it's described as a hub locking stud - and they helpfully suggest "using a suitable tool" without specifying what the hell that tool might be. Picture shows a ring spanner identical to the one I was using before both spanner and hub started to round.
Hi Chesters. No good unfortunately, the spindle stays in place and the pulley hub slides off over it, so fitting anything larger over the top will leave me unable to remove the hub.
Use a socket, fill socket with grease, then dip the socket in coarse sand, then try again. In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Down and out's Velar
