Been outside playing and trying to find and adjust the lever without taking the lights out. I found what I thught was the leaver and all I end up doing is moving the bulb around in circles
I assume this will not be a problem and the lights will dance thenselves back to the correct position when I next use them? For details on the next Kielder Safari click visit the GToN website

On that basis, changing the oil must be done by taking the engine out and shaking it
:
- that's what I have been doing wrong (and I thought the dealers were over charging for an oil service)

Have a look at this

You can use ordinary PVC sticky tape, but it tends to stick too well, and will be a pain to remove, the proper masking tape available from the likes of Halfords (it has a heat resistant backing) Never get mad - get even !!

After taking out the front lights it seems thier is NO adjustment on GS modle , or could it be when i asked them at Land Rover dealers to change them begause they had damaged them, they stiched me up with wrong lights .
Or mabe they were right and GS does not have them.

The adjustment is only on xenon headlamps. The GS doesn't have them, it has traditional halogen lamps.

10forcash wrote:Should be a lever in each unit, it's easier to do with the lights out as sometimes the fork on the end of the lever can miss the pin on the lamp unit
I wonder if this has happened to mine. I don't appear to have any beam pattern on the near side - so I took the NS lamp out and pushed the lever up. It just sprung back to the centre point again. Is this supposed to happen? JB

I understand Sweden went from right hand to left hand driving back in the 60's over a couple of weekends. (Go figure! ) So anything is possible.
But I doubt they would do it for you Mark.

Hi all
just got a pair of non adaptive xenons
now i need to convert the beams from the WDS ( driver side) to CHS (correct hand side)
i identified the leverage, which is a bit hidden under the lamp holder
now my question is what about undoing the bolt holding this pathetic leverage in situ to be able to operate directly the second leverage using a long screwdriver?
it seem the first leverage sometimes misses the second one
this is the reason why i thought taking apart that cr py first leverage
thanks

I just did the change for going to sunny France and my conclusions are:
1. It may be possible to do in the car, but if you don't know where the lever is it will be very hard
2. If you are planning on doing it at the port, take some latex gloves, it's dirty in there
3. Taking off the grill takes less than ten seconds.
4. Releasing the levers for the lights takes a few seconds per headlamp on second attempt.....
on first attempt it took a little levering with a screw driver and then lots of WD40 to make then slide easilly afterwards
5. The lever is very easy to move, but take a mental note of which way the slide is first.... as it can be a bit confusing as to whether you have done it or not!
6. With the car in the gloom of the garage and dipped headlamps on, it is easy to see which way they are dipped afterwards.
7. The grey covers do only go on one way, but there is a little triangle on the headlamp which lines up with the sticking out "handle" on the grey cover.
..... so, to do it again.....
1. open bonnet 10 seconds
2. remove grill 10 seconds
3. lift two levers on headlight - 20 seconds
4. remove headlamp, unplugging the electrics - 10 seconds
5. put headlamp on nice carpet area of fold down bit of boot - 20 seconds
6. twist open and then remove grey cover - 10 seconds
7. note position of slide -
8. move lever - 5 seconds
9. check slide now at far side -
10. walk headlamp back to front - 20 seconds
11. reconnect electrics - 5 seconds
12. locate and push down both locking levers - 10 seconds
13. repeat 4-12 for other light - 1 min 20
14. pop grill back on - 10 seconds
15. close bonnet - 5 seconds
16. check direction if you feel like it
17. remove latex gloves!!!!
- done in under five minutes D3 2.7 TDv6 HSE, 2005 in silver.

I was catching an early ferry from Dover so needed lights set for driving on the LHS for the journey to the port as it was still dark.
Arrived at the ferry, dawn just breaking.
Completed step 1 above.
Chap asked me what I was doing implying "no repairs" at the port.
I explained about switching lights to RHS driving position seemed happy enough.
Got to step 2 and I was told to board the ferry

driven from calais down to Southern Spain 3 or 4 times now, mainly in the dark and never changed the lights over and never had any issues or anyone flash me.
the first time i went I thought I would wait and see if i got flashed and change them then but it never happended.
did get flashed once by a nutter overtaking and on myside of the road - but a full on main beam flash of my Aux Lights soon put him in his place - the hedge ! Duncan
