I bought my disco in feb 2005 and had a suspension failure after a month.
It took three weeks then to find the cause and repair the overlay harness.
Last week after 3,5 jrs and 170000 km my car had again suspension failure and now the overlay harness must be replaced for a new one. Does anyone know if i can claim warranty because the harness should be replaced earlier in stead of a repair 2005 Disco 3 TDV6 HSE in Ebony Gray

I'd be claiming anyway, you have to get cranky though. "A society that will trade a little liberty for a little order will lose both- and deserve neither"

| Suspension woes... again. |
|
Well completed the suspension survey yesterday morning, and oh yes yesterday aft suspension light appeared and suspension in access mode, unable to raise, tried everything, to no avail. Limped down to the stealers with the suspension on its A E and after plugging it to the Tardis, they came back to inform me the compressor had failed, this was the second compressor in three years i mentioned to the dealer about if there was a new improved compressor out and he said that there wasn't, and unfortunately there are no compressors available at all !!! And to top it all off he wanted £460.00 to put one on in the event that he can aquire one that is ?
Advice either trade in before the 3 years is up or the way thing have been going in the last month with my so called best4x4 put aside a wadge of cash to carry out all repairs that go wrong when your warranty expires, mine has absorbed over £900.of my hard earned pie n mash in the last month on parts alone......... think ill try a Nissan next, now with 5 yrs warranty for about £500 extra..

Hi. I am thinking of getting a new/nearly new Disco. Is this suspension thing an ongoing problem? There haven't been many posts since 2006.

I had many problems with the air suspension in the first 6 months. Was at the dealer for about 10 days on separate occasions in 2005/2006. No problems since then until now, Compressor is gone again, leaking air.
Completed survey for this latest issue. Discomaniac

Hiya surfer some prices i paid last week
Fitted price £476.00 inc Vat but i got £200.00 off that price for Land Rover good will, so make sure you ask for it, they should give it you if its not long out of warranty or you've had these problems before, the dealership i used really struggled to get a pump and if they fob you off try and give LR customer services a bell and see if they can speed it up for you, it worked for me, Good Luck...

Thanks for the info - Took it into local dealer for new compressor - £300 later it was fitted but fault code wouldn't clear now they tell me it is the resevoir valve that's faulty and thats another £121, so car got to go back for that now - they also said fault may still not clear - if not it's a wiring issue...........

Hi ya Surfer re your wiring issue that was the reason that my last pump failed, they said that the wiring loom to the pump had cut through and shorted out, causing the pump to fail, i asked where abouts and he said at the front where the loom goes through the chassis, so he cut out the damaged wiring and replaced it, and well touch wood no problems so far, hope this is of any use to ya, good luck!

They should have done an adustment once it was done.
The manual says:
NOTE :
This procedure must be carried out after replacement of the air suspension control module or height sensor link arm, removal or replacement of the front or rear upper arms or the height sensor. The ride height does not need calibration after removal or replacement of the front or rear air springs or shock absorbers.
If they did any of the above they should have.
Also, it may just be it is now the right height and wasn't before.
Ride Height Adjustments (60.90.03)
Special Service Tools
Gauge, Ride height
204-557B
CAUTION : Make sure the wheels and tires, tie rod ends, suspension joints and wheel bearings are free from damage, wear and free play.
CAUTION : Make sure there are no heavy objects in the vehicle.
CAUTION : The ride height must be measured with the vehicle weight supported by the suspension.
CAUTION : With the engine running and all vehicle doors closed, make sure the air suspension is functioning and the vehicle height can be raised and lowered using the air suspension switch.
CAUTION : Drive the vehicle on to a flat, level surface.
CAUTION : Make sure the steering is in the straight ahead position.
NOTE :
This procedure must be carried out after replacement of the air suspension control module or height sensor link arm, removal or replacement of the front or rear upper arms or the height sensor. The ride height does not need calibration after removal or replacement of the front or rear air springs or shock absorbers.
1 . Using the Land Rover approved diagnostic system, carry out the ride height adjustments.
2 . CAUTION : Make sure the vehicle is not moved once it has been positioned to take measurements.
Position the vehicle on a flat level surface.
3 . Connect IDS to the vehicle data link connector.
Connect the vehicle data link cable into the vehicle communications module.
Connect the IDS USB Lead into the vehicle communications module.
Connect the data link cable to the data link connector.
Connect the IDS USB lead to the IDS USB port.
4 . CAUTION : Make sure the ignition switch is turned off, the park brake is on and the selector lever is in park.
NOTE :
IDS already loaded with the latest issue of software.
Switch IDS on and navigate to the vehicle identification number (VIN) input screen.
5 . Enter the VIN and navigate to the vehicle configuration menu.
Select setup and configuration.
Select air suspension height calibration and read all warnings and cautions.
6 . NOTE :
Do not install the special tool over a locking wheel nut.
NOTE :
Make sure the special tool is square to the wheel face with the measuring rod in a vertical position.
NOTE :
Take the measurement from the top edge of the slider on the special tool.
Once in the suspension height measurement screen, use the special tool to measure and record the height setting from each wheel center to the wheel arch.
7 . CAUTION : IDS will now cause the vehicle height to change.
Input the ride height measurements taken from the vehicle into IDS.
8 . Using the special tool, repeat the vehicle ride height measurements.
9 . After successful calibration of the air suspension switch off IDS and return to its original position. "A society that will trade a little liberty for a little order will lose both- and deserve neither"
