Oil change - how much?
The guy I'm collecting my D3 from has agreed to change the oil and filter for my via his local garage but is saying they want to charge £150 plus vat ... so £180 seems VERY expensive to me !
How much are other people paying ?I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

Decent oil would be £40+ and garage rates at £100/hour+ , there's the £150.
People do pay that and more for garages to do minor services.Richard

Hi mate
I pay £80 for my oil and engine oil filter , local garage charges £40 per hour
Local JLR garage now charge £140 per hour plus vat , plus last time I asked it was over £500 to to a full service

Thanks guys,
I was expecting it to be less than £100 based on the oil is £45 for 6l, filter is £20 for genuine LR one and say half hour labour... it's gone to a local garage not an LR dealer and I'm guessing they won't ask their most highly trained technician to remove a sump plug ... but then again...
Anyway just getting it done as I don't want to be driving 600 miles thinking about the oil all the time... there will be plenty of other things to worry about on the trip back up

My local dealer now charge £200 an hour and want to charge 2hrs to diagnose an addblue fault, im glad im not payingAndrew

these vehicles aint cheap to run or service ...but you knew that when you bought it.....as said dealer prices are high ,,,,say £125/150 per hour plus vat,,, oil .filter,,,dont be surprised to see environmental charge
for disposing of old filter...oil and dirty rags etc,,,,if nothing else you do get the oil right or you could end up with a phooked motor...then the fun starts.
