Topix info on Crankshaft failure
https://topix.landrover.jlrext.com/topix/c...?id=856908
This is on the Topix information page, it is regarding crankshaft failure, can anyone access it and post it? it may be useful information.
I do not have access to open the link.
Thanks...........One life live it..........
Actually, do panic - the T/SDV6 is renowned for breaking its crank, it happens in D3/D4/RRS.
the incidence seems to be a lot higher in ZA and, to a lesser extent, in Oz, and the failure is not predictable - it can happen at near-new mileage, or it can happen at 200,000km.
See this link for a list of failures as reported on various forums: http://www.4x4community.co.za/forum/showth...re-Reports--
2010 Defender Puma 90 + BAS remap + Alive IC + Slickshift + Ashcroft ATB rear
2015 Range Rover Sport V8 Supercharged
And FFs. Sweepstake on when it happens on a D5 anyone?
hmm, it's a single turbo engine, and the D5 weighs much less than the D4, so one can only hope it's a less stressed engine.--

Sad but true - even new low mileage cars are affected. A forum member on the German forum has just had his engine replaced for the second time. Main bearings failed - MY16 SE at 30870 km. Disco4 V6 SC HSE (MY2014)
