Can anybody help with the torque setting for the 4 bolts that hold the torque converter to the flywheel on a 55 plate Discovery please.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is a "55 Plate"? We here in the colonies follow the American way of doing things, have no idea what you are referring to... Thanks in advance...

That’s an excellent question, I also had to figure this out when I joined the forum. In U.K. the license plate tells you when the vehicle was registered (exception: vanity plates), it’s the third and fourth characters. They change every 6 months so in the “55” example it’s a vehicle that’s been registered afterstarting September 2005 but before March 2006...I think. The previous plate (until September 2005) would have been 05 and the one after 55 would have been 06.

Thanks... Here in Alberta, the plate is registered to the owner of the vehicle, who keeps it (the plate) even after selling their vehicle. In Ontario, the plate stays with the vehicle always, those two systems are pretty common in Canada and the USA (we have relatives in Ontario, Alberta, California and New York) except for vanity plates...

In our socialist paradise the plate stays with the vehicle “forever”.

If you manage to construct a vanity plate out of max three letters, a mandatory dash, and max three digits it’ll also stay with the vehicle. If you want to move it to a new vehicle you’ll have to pay the custom plate fee again (and that’s €1000 or so). Whistle

In most of Canada and the USA radio amateurs (HAMS) can get free call sign vanity plates, and they stay with the owner, is it not the same there in Finland?

I didn’t find any special treatment being mentioned for radio amateurs in the law for vehicle registrations.

Well, after the Mexican earthquakes in early 2000's the ONLY communications for the first few days were amateur radio. that shook up a few of the naysayers... Satellite phone service can work now, but fibre optic and digital microwave radio are very susceptible to geological/weather events, so we should never be too complacent about our communications systems reliability...
