United Kingdom 2015 Discovery 4 3.0 SDV6 HSE Auto Stornoway GreyDiscovery 4
Track rod end failure

Had a bad clonking noise from the front of car.
Track Rod end failed after 20K.
Anyone else day this problem? New Defender Deposit paid 12/17:-) Lookin forward to Dec 2018.

sounds like a one off failure, i've not heard of it on Disco3's, mine are OK and they've certainly had some stress!

On second reading sounds like it was loose (clonking) rather than failure.

Its not long since a father and his son were killed near me when a steering knuckle failed on his Series 1.

No went straight to dealer who could not find the fault and booked me in for the following week!
It did last that long. New Defender Deposit paid 12/17:-) Lookin forward to Dec 2018.
