Tracking

Took the disco to get the tracking done today , just going through a few things that need sorting. Before the tracking it pulled very slightly to the left , only very slightly. The steering wheel was turned just passed level to compensate for this.
Before the tracking the steering was very easy to turn and self centred, after the steering was very heavy and did not self centre , I had to pull it back to the centre.
The two pictures show before and after.
Looked in the Haynes but it doesn’t relate to what’s in the two pictures or I’m missing something.

The first picture is before the adjusted the tracking the second is when it has been adjusted .

The “mechanic” said when he gave me the keys back the steering is very heavy, didn’t think much to it until I drove.
Compared to what it was it’s now like the steering on an old series 11

It’s going back in the morning just want some idea why he thinks those settings are correct.

The last pic is from the Haynes , on the toe setting it says total 10 to 12 does that mean left and right in total , so 5 to 6 on each side.

As you see I don’t know anything about tracking.
Any help would be great.
