My D3 needs tracking, my local independant depot wants £75 to put it on their deluxe Rolls Royce set-up or can I go cheap and use ATS? Is the ATS gear any good is the question? Cheers.

Cheers TLO, and what will I get over and above a standard 4 wheel laser alignment @ £29.95?

I think the D3 needs to be locked at a special maintenance height for a correct alignment - the cheapo place probably won't do this as they may not have the correct diagnostic tool. 2020 SDV6 D5 HSE, Carpathian Grey +

It can be done on the cheap, but you ought to put the vehicle into suspension geometry tight-tolerance mode (normally using dealer IDS although there are certain other boxes of tricks that can) first. You may need the steering sensors re-calibrated afterwards which a dealer / indi can do. ATS generally won't. £75 is a good price.

Mollers,
Had mine re-aligned by laser etc after some suspension work, well worth it in my opinion.
Also paid £75.00 and the guys were indy but had green ovals for eyes and diff oil for blood.
Car felt utterly different after the work and the re-alignemnt.
Would highly recommed the laser alignment.
Cheers. All things shipping, storage, transport. UK and worldwide.

Hi,
I'm new(ish) to this site, having owned my Disco 3 for just over a month (a replacement for my 04MY Disco 2 with 170k from new that finally has been traded in . . . .
Just had mine '4 wheel laser tracked' at a company called 'Pro Tyre' in Gloucester. Watched teh guy doing the work and I think it was great value !!
He:-
Checked all tyre pressures were correct (which they were )
Drove the vehilce onto a ramp, all 4 wheels on disk plates
Fitted some sophisticated looking units to each wheel, and set up a laser unit at the front (one on each side)
Raised the vehicle and whilst underneath and looking at a PC screen at the front ajusted each wheel for front/rear alignment and also caster angle
A supervisor then checked what he had done and confirmed all nuts etc where tightened correctly.
On completion he gave me a full print out showing the tolerance values for each wheel, the actual before adjustment and the final settings
I was impressed
and all for £41 + VAT (and I even had a free coffee while I waited)
06MY TDV6 HSE Artic Frost + side steps, tow pack, rear locking diff and 08MY bluetooth upgrade
