I had the same on a very slippery slight incline on my road tyres. Spinning wheels, TC working overtime and when I tried to brake. Brake pedal solid for about a second. Felt a lot longer I have to admit.
So I think it has to do with TC working and then suddenly want to use the brakes.
I know now and try to com off the throttle a little earlier and then there is no problem. Roel

philthejono wrote:Just had my servo and vacuum pump replaced under warranty after found myself with foot to floor and no proper brake pressure. Looks like I was lucky in the parts front then!! Reason was oil in the brake system. There had been an oil leak that was near the near-side front wheel.
Question I am wondering about is how can oil get into the brake system in the first place? Did some looking around the site to find out what teh problem could be after car went in and there seem to be a few cases of the same. Is this a common fault then?
I do not think your dealer knew the real reason or he is telling porkies. Oil gets into the brake lines via the vaccuum pump and servo. The oil leaks into the brake fluid due to a breakdown of the seals by the oil itself.
How is oil going to get ito the brake line by any other route? “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€
