Trailer for practise

Hi all. I am going to be doing my b+e test soon.
Due to my age I can only tow a 750kg trailer, does anyone have one spare I could borrow for a couple of weeks to practise reversing etc before I go for my test.

Then I can tow a tintent.

what are you going to use for your test? It will need to be braked, a certain width, and block the view from your rear view mirror. Best to practice with the right sort of trailer?

I and nearly all of my friends paid for lessons and hired the instructors trailer to do the lessons and the test and its definitely money well spent, even though I grew up reversing tractors and trailers!

I don't want it for the test I will hire one. I want to only do a 1 day course as I can't get the time off work so want some practise before I do it. Legally I can tow a trailer up to 750 so wanted to have a go if that makes sense.

if you want to just practice reversing, best make sure you can see it both sides in your wing mirrors or you will find it extremely difficult.

I believe you can tow anything you like up to a gross train weight of 3500kg. so if your disco is 2500kg then you can tow 1000kg... might be wrong

Practicing before you take your test or have your day's tuition makes sense but you would be far better off doing this with a trailer similar to the one you intend use for your test or tow after you've passed. There's a big difference towing a small 750 kg trailer to one that meets the requirements for taking your test with.
Suggest you try to borrow one of at least a tonne and get used to towing it loaded. You'll need to have L plates and be accompanied by someone with a full B+E licence.

So I could use L plates with my brother with a caravan on who has b+e because he passed before 1997?

So long as B+E is on licence as provisional entitlement, yes!

And your insurance company cover you as learning...

To be honest the sub 750kg camping style trailers are short, you can barely see them and imo a pain in the Censored to reverse. I find it easier to back my 28ft caravan in to a space than I do my 5x3 tip trailer!

Yes you can, for B+E it doesn't matter how the full licence was obtained, your brother as a full licence holder can accompany you providing he is over 21 and has held the full licence for three years or more.

You have provisional entitlement to B+E if you have full cat B. It'd be sensible to make sure you are insured for the vehicle you are driving.

Cheers
