Hi

It may help if you describe the problems you are having with the vehicle and what kind of mileage you have on it and any transmission work that has been carried out in the past - there are lots of fairly common issues such as transmission fluid being knackered and linkage corrosion causing selector issues.

Lots of people will be happy to offer pointers with a bit of information to work from

Not that I’m obsessed, but ....

Is the passenger footwell carpet damp st all?

If so, read TSB LA-501-006

If not damp, and you may want to lift the trim to check under the carpet, then apologies for wasting your time..

As I said, I’m obsessed with damp carpet ......

Not had the problem but there are some things to check that are fairly easy that might highlight the cause

As above - any water where it shouldn’t be?

Are the wires chaffed or perhaps broken to the sensors behind the bumper?

How’s the battery condition as this can be the cause of a lot of odd faults on D3s

If you turn off the parking sensors with the dash switch does the fault still appear?

Is the car difficult to shift between positions on the auto box

Had any brake lights or switch replacements?

Terry, fill out your profile then people can see what car you have. Manual or auto?
