transmission fault brought on by braking

not been on for a while and expecting to be told off for putting this in the wrong place, so first let me appologise for this and ask that any mooderator move this thread to the correct location Whistle

ok lets start with my problem, or my car problem

occasionally when I brake (softly i drive like my grandad Surprised ) a tranmission fault shows up followed shortly by turning of speciall programs and then the suspension lowers to access height.

If I turn off ignition and restart its ok apart from sometimes reporting transmission fault which goes away eventually untill I brake again and it all starts again.

I should also mention when I played with the ignition turning it on & off I can also report seeing HDC fault and park brake fault but this only happened once.

Mr car was in the dealers last week having the vacumn brake hose changed free recall, I'm wondering if they forgot to plug something back in although my thoughts are a faulty sensor.

I am booked in at the stealers Thursday for them to take a look, I am also out of warrenty now and expecting the worst!!

If anyone has experienced similar problem I'd be grateful for any advice, I'll confirm how I get on Thurs/Fri.

regards,

Driftyone

Sounds like the same fault i got with a faulty brake pedal switch

I think its about £6 from the dealers & takes about 5 minutes to fit

All my problems are now cured Thumbs Up (Till the next time)

If this occurred only after the servo pipe was done tell the dealers it was OK until they touched something and to check they have not disturbed anything.

It happened about a week after the pipe was changed, and on my first long journey to central london.

Its not nice driving over the pot holes in access height, at least were only travelling 1-3 mph

Conclusion

Had the confirmation from the dealers today...........

Faulty brake light switch

Keeping the car extra day as they dont have the part in stock.

The bill will be £190 + Vat, a little steap but whats a permigrin actually worth paying for!!!! Smile
