Trolley Jack Storage in Third Row Seats Footwell!!

Hi, just thought I'd let you know about this....

The other night I thought I had a slow puncture & decided to blow up my Rear Passenger Wheel with a Compressor I had in my boot. Anyway all was well until I removed the compressor & the Tyre Valve inner shot out Shocked

Within seconds the Tyre was completely flat Mad

Rather than risking the dodgy scissor jack I brought out my Old 2 Tonne Trolley Jack, which worked great!

I'm not exactly signing up to change Lewis's F1 Tyres this season Rolling with laughter but overall happy considering it was also dark!

Anyway next day I then found a great place to store my trustworthy jack - Third Row Seats Footwell...

Can you get that jack high enough working on the rear wheel of the car to clear the ground, or do you use something to give it more height?

Good shout. I usually keep my rope and shackles in there. I think I'll try that as well and free up space in the back Thumbs Up

If you follow the manual directions (tailgate open, in reverse for our manual) the D3 will "suck" the wheel up once the weight sensor detects which corner is being jacked, making it easy job for a standard height trolley jack.

Just don't forget the magic procedure, otherwise it thinks your off-road and pushes the wheel down to find the ground! Evil or Very Mad and you have to let it down and start again!

That's an excellent tip. Will need to check the D4's manual.

Never heard of that one before, must try it.

As for the jack stowage, I just bought a Costco one and remembered seeing this thread. Nearly gave myself a hernia trying to get it in, way too big. Big Cry Big Cry

Well thats a new one on me as well. Exclamation

Just checked my manual and it only states to put the vehicle at off road height. It even says you can now lock the vehicle Exclamation

Need to try this as the last time I gave up with LR jack

I've not had any luck either and I agree that my manual states that the D4 should be in offroad height.

I've tried both access and offroad heights.

Anyone got a make model that will fit in this gap please? My workshop trolley jack (the Clarke one recommended on here) would never fit!

Thanks,

John

Put my similar jack in there when the 3rd row seats were up. I've now put them down again and re-installed the dog guard. Guess what, the b****y jack won't come out again! Big Cry
