Trying to disable TPMS

Today I set up my IIDtool and uploaded the latest firmware to it. One reason for getting it was to disable the TPMS. After I went in to the CCF and the TPMS subsection and selected TPMS not fitted, I tried to upload the changes but I received a failure message. It goes as far as asking me to switch the ignition off/on and then when I select continue it indicates the update failed. This is on a 07 LR3.

I was able to clear the faults though so at least it isn't flashing the tire pressure light on startup though it still remains lit. Has anyone else experience this? I did read some old threads that seemed to indicate that there were subsections in the Body Control section of the CCF for the TPMS however mine doesn't list any. Possibly those threads were from old firmware?

I've not had a D3 however recently cleared the service indicator on one. We had the engine running to start, the IID told me to turn it off and ignition on. The owner did that, but he just turned the key so the radio was playing - then the update failed. I turned it off then ignition on so all the lights on the dashboard were on, then it worked. So does the key go - off - accessories - ignition - start ? If so just make sure you turn the ignition on not just the acc.

I started with the key in the on(II) position and then went off back to on(II) when it asked me to. I don't believe it wanted the vehicle to be started.

Ok that's ruled out then. Maybe send an email to GAP, although I understand they are out of the office for the holidays for a while.

I had the same issue, and I needed a firmware update from Pat direct to fix it. It seems they have a problem with their TPMS writing that needs a specific firmware version to work. Pat sorted it in a day for me (due to the time difference to Canada).
