Sounds like a possibility hot tub lower and upper pads are available from rimmer bros cost about £65 each so £260 for the front seats plus a pair of modules ?

Retrofitting heating elements will be a plan B option. Having enquired about it already, the cost is about £500. So I want to pursue the OEM option first if the elements are in place already, with the proper 3 stage buttons on the HVAC panel.

2seaterhero- I managed to take that shot using my phone from the front with the seat pushed right back, it took several attempts though.

Here's the box with the lid off, 4 plugs inside. Bartonfeilds, the pads I mentioned in previous post are oem as I'm also keen on using LR parts. I'm not sure if I'd need an extra module to go under the seat or whether the pads plug directly into the black box in the photo.

Yes so it looks like we have the same set up, so that's disappointing. Buying the OEM parts like you suggested is an option, it's getting someone to fit them, because I don't have the confidence or know how to do it myself. The £500 I was quoted was for supply and fitting of a non OEM system where they put a switch on the side of the seat. I'll chat with my local independent and see if they can supply and fit OEM parts and what it would cost. If it's about the same cost then it's a definite option.

Well the oem pads are half the cost of what you've been quoted and I payed £40 for the hvac unit (which I've already installed and wasn't too difficult), I also have an iid tool that's allowed me to activate it in the ccf file's. By the time it's all added up I'll have paid more than your quote but in the long term the iid tool will be used a few times so hopefully be worth it in the end.

You’ll need heated seat modules too Thumbs Up

I put heated seats into my D4, about to remodel it to an electric drivers seat too Mr. Green

Often cheaper to buy a pair of used seats and strip out the parts you need

The cheapest and easiest way is to buy a pair of HSE seats of e bay and just fit them in your car.

You then sell yours-net cost for me to do that about £100.

They are then just plug and play.

I'm struggling to find a pair of hse heated seats, in fact I've only seen them in a set of 7 and priced around £900 ! I'm tempted to buy a cheapy over the seat plug in jobbie just to get through this winter and try again in spring.

They do come up at times, just be patient.

Hi 2seaterhero have you got any further with the heated seats?

I went down to my local independent and they gave me a price for supplying and fitting OEM elements. They explained that the seat bases were relatively easy to fit, but the seat back were very fiddly and would take a fair bit of time. Estimate was about £280 per seat. I'm considering just getting the seat bases done as it'll work out quite a bit cheaper, then install the backs at a later date.

Beanie mentioned heating modules and I'm a bit confused about what they are and whether I will need them. I've searched the web and can't find out any info. The chap at the independent garage seemed to think that all I needed was the heating elements, plus the HVAC for the dash, which I have already acquired. Beanie, do you have anymore info about these modules?

I'm still on the look out for a set of HSE front seats as an alternative, but they have to be in Almond trim to match my interior, so I doubt if I'll find any.

The hvac panel doesn’t control the heating elements.
It turns them on and off, there is a seat ECU for the heating elements that regulates the heat, without this there nothing to plug the elements into Thumbs Up

I thought the back & base heating pads needed to be installed together as they are wired in series so if one fails the other does not work
