I'm in the process of fitting a reconditioned turbo due to limp mode issues while towing our caravan.
I've used the excellent how to guide from this site, many thanks to the chap who wrote it and the others who added to it.
I'm having trouble remembering the exact position of the clamp with single bolt that connects into the side of the engine. I think the clamp fits to the right of the small flange on the pipe, there was a small ridge formed in the pipe that it can grip on to it. I've positioned it there and it pulled the pipe into the engine a few mm and the bolt holes at the top of the pipe lined up exactly with the threaded holes in the bottom of the turbo.
My concern is should the clamp be over the flange, but I reckon that would put the top holes out of alignment.
Can anybody confirm I've put the clamp in the correct position, I don't want an oil leak after it's all back together.
I've attached a photo that hopefully shows what I'm talking about.

Martin, I have the same problem after refitting the turbo. I removed it 4 Werke ago and cannot remember how it was.
Is your foto showing the correct way?

Thomas
