TURBO REPLACED
Hi there. If you read my post on here last week you will know that i became a member of C.F.T. Well after a bit of phoning around i got myself a good deal on a brand new turbo. I did the job myself too, started Tuesday evening for a couple of hours, again on wednesday and turbo was out on Thursday. Fitted new one yesterday and now all is well apart from grazed knuckles. It is not an easy job but the satisfaction of saving nearly 2k and completing the job succesfully it was well worth it. If anyone wants any tips on how to do it my way (not LR way, which means lifting off the body from the chasis) then i will be more than happy to share my new knowledge. Guy.D3 bonatti grey

Well there is alot to explain and sorry never took any pics which i am annoyed about now. Anyone can PM me there number, i can give them a call and chat about it. One thing i can say is that it is well do-able and you def dont need to lift the body. You do need a comprehensive tool kit and i cut down a 13mm combination spanner to about 2 1/2 inches (ring end) to undo the nuts which fix the turbo to the manifold. The route out for the turbo is back towards the gear box over the first cross member and down. You need to remove the front prop and the first section of exhaust pipe which has the cat on it, this entails dropping the gearbox cross member and supporting the gearbox with a jack although you dont need to remove it just swing it down hinging it off one bolt on the offside. Lots of other bit to come off but as i said if you need advice just PM me. D3 bonatti grey

Im going to agree with Guy. Way too long a process to list it all.
Best bet is probably to subscribe to GTR for the day, as the LR instructions now state you dont have to remove the body My D3 Build Thread
