MAN BLAMES BURGLARY AT ARIZONE HOME ON TWITTER MESSAGES
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/scienceandtechn...sages.html
Izzy Hyman (unfortunate name) had all his high-end electrical goods nicked after posting his life on Twitter. Seems he's surprised by this - after all, he only posted pics of all his stuff, neatly geo-tagged, on Twitter before telling his 2000 "followers" that he was off on holiday for 10 days.
Quote:"My wife thinks it could be a random thing, but I just have my suspicions," he said. "They didn't take any of our normal consumer electronics.
"Did I really want to tell the world that I was out of town? Because the card in my camera automatically added location data to my photos, anyone who cared to look at my Flickr page could see my computers, my spendy bicycle, and my large flatscreen TV all pinpointed on an online photo map.
"Hell, with a few clicks you could get driving directions right to my place--and with a few more you could get black gloves and a lock pick delivered to your home."
Sheer genius. I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

You've got to laugh...
(he says, making a note-to-self not to make any "pre-spot" posts when it comes to holiday time in the summer...) The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...
Club "yes, I too have had the EGR's replaced..."
Club "yes, I too have had the compressor replaced..."
Club "yes, I too once had the car at the dealer for a couple of weeks nearly 4 weeks over 4 weeks...5 weeks"
Club "yes, I too have had EPB failure..."
Club "yes, I too get mysterious bings and bongs..."
