Tyre Pressure Monitoring

Does anyone use one of these systems on the D3/caravan. Just looking at the TyrePal system. Price seems ok and looks to be quite flexible. Any advice welcome.

Cheers

Seems a tad expensive and over the top to me but hey, each to their own. I have a twin axle van so a blow out isn't that much of an issue for me and having a compressor the pressures are checked before we leave and while away with a £10 digital pressure gauge and a foot pump. Very Happy

Having a TA and a blow out might not seem a major issue, however the damage from the shreded tyre can be massive, saw a couple when in France last year and I would think that at least one of the caravans would be a right off. Inner wheel arch totally trashed, floor area around wheel arch trashed, caravan side around wheel arch trashed.

Does give the piece of mind thing. Have got a pressure gauge but this can't tell you if you've picked up a problem on the way. And yes I think a blowout would make a right mess of the van. Also wont be much fun for the person behind you.

Or is it just my love of a gadget that makes me want one Whistle

Cheers

I use Tireguard - similar to Tiredog, but just easier to setup...

Just be careful - use steel valve stems if you can... this happened to my rims - but I drive fast..... Smile

Got TyrePal on the truck - it does give you peace of mind and of course, gives early warning of any issues regarding sticking brake pads etc by way of undue pressure increase.

Thumbs Up
