D3 TDV6 HSE 18" rims - does anyone know whether we can swap these for 17" rims in the hope to get more than 30K from a set of tyres?

yep - 17's are ok on TVD6, just not on the V8 due to bigger discs.
Surely mileage/wear rate is down to tyre spec and driving style, not rim size.

Thanks Al. We have found that TDV6 HSE seems to have 2 cbrands of tyres on 18" rims available, which all seem to be very soft giving low k's, hence going to 17" higher profile tyres, cheaper and hopefully more k's

You don't have to stick to the brand/type that LR put on. There are loads of good 18" AT choices, e.g. BFG, Cooper, General etc

One question arise to my little brain...
In italy you cannot run on tire size different from the one listed,
is it different in UK?!
As I read the 255/60 R18 could be changed with 265 or even 285 with no need to make a new omologation and the insurrance will cover an accident with any problem?!......................or
thank you figuring it out!!!!
the best feeling:getting airborne.

No just the Load Rating. The speed rating is also important . i.e if you have an accident whilst travelling at say 110 mph and the tyres you have on at the time are only rated at 99 mph then your in deep doo doo

Especially if the speed limit on that bit of road was only 70 mph to start with I believe that every human has a finite number of heart-beats. I don't intend to waste any of mine running around doing exercises.

I don't think I would be too worried about the tyres if I had an accident at 110mph
