Tell me Lr1, why would a series of major problems serve me right for disagreeing with you? sounds a little vindictive, sure you are off at your car being faulty, I would be too, as I am sure BN probably is (was) with his. The fact remains, my car has been fine and I do not have any problems with Land Rover and Clive and his spiteful website don't bother me at all. In fact I hope sods law dictates that having complained your car will now run perfectly and you will see things from the happy side of the fence. I am not trying to be smug, and I do understand how you and some others must feel however I just am very happy with my car and dont feel the need to feel guilty about that.
I am also sure that LR are trying to sort out quality issues ( bourne out in part by BN's last post) but as I said before nothing can ever be perfect

I have nothing but praise for my vehicle, for LR and the dealer!! I am probably one of many who keep quiet when there is nothing to complain about!!!!
I have had my D3 for 6 months now and it has been perfect, a real pleasure to drive.
The dealer has been very good and I call him occasionally to ask questions and he always returns calls with solid answers.
My D3 has been all the way to the South of France and back and was fantastic in every way. Even the MPG was around 29 with 6 adults, roof box loads of luggage etc.
Any other folk out there who have had similar 'good luck' with their D3??
Perhaps Martin should start a new thread where we can praise the vehicle!!! MG

The dealer that I purchased the vehicle from was Hereford Land Rover at Much Cowarne in Herefordshire.
I intend to get it serviced at either Guy Salmon at Thames Ditton or Harwoods near Coulsdon.
Does anyone have experience of these 2 dealerships??

Purchase and had my serviced at Guy Salmon Thames Ditton, have found them to be very good. Sorted out a few niggles on the car with no problems, service price a bit more than some have paid on here but I now that for next time. Andy - 2006 HSE TDV6

I use Hereford Land at Much Cowarne for supply and service and have found them to be excellent. This has been bourne out by many unscheduled visits due to many of the issues highlighted elsewhere on this site.. compressor; cruise control; gearbox; sat nav; seats.. etc.. As ever they are caught in the middle of most of the evolving issues between us the drivers, and LR corp, but Hereford LR always try their best to resolve them.
Whilst I don't necessarily agree with all the negative comments flying around re: D3's, nor some of the tactics employed in voicing them, I have to say that my car has been off the road for around 5+ weeks since I got it in July, and I echo BN's comments that this does impact my time and money. Having said that when it all works the car is SUPERB!! In my case sadly I can't afford to have so much down time so will be leaving the brand shortly. However in my heart I hope it's an "Au Revoir" and not a "Goodbye"..
