UK Custom Covers boot liner

I bought a quilted liner for my Disco 4, but I can see no way that it is ever going to fit properly.

The rear part (back of the seats) has velcro patches sewn in which are supposed to attach to the 'seat fold' handles.

Right seat

As you can see - the velcro on the left seat and right seat are far too close together.

The supplier UK Custom Covers says that they sell 60 a month and no-one else has issues, they even sent out a second one to me but it's identical.

Am I missing something??

Not good news I fear when you read the reviews:-

Forgive me, but I'm not really understanding what the issue is. From the pictures, looks pretty much the same as my (non-UK Custom Covers) cover. Not sure why you would need the cover to go over the seat fold handles.

I have the Non quilted version from Custom Covers, and it is fine, never had a problem, very hardwearing

No issues with customer service either

I never put the velcro on the seat latches as you don't need them, the tapes for the headrests hold the seatback section up, and even then I don't always put them on, and it still stays up

Bit of a non-issue

It seems to be holding ok with just the headrest straps - but they are supposed to be a secondary fixing, it’s primarily held with Velcro stuck to the plastic in various places.

My issue with it is that it’s claimed to be designed custom for the car, but there’s no way that I can see that those fixings would ever work.

Their attitude seems to be that it’s my issue rather than theirs and their product must be correct.

I’ve decided to keep it for now, as apart from the fitting issue it seems ok...

The boot flap also seems poorly designed in terms of the overlapping part so we shall see how that goes once I’ve let the adhesive dry on the Velcro.

Do the Velcro patches match the seat fold handles in yours?

Okay I see your problem. Mine do align okay but the Velcro down the back seats doesn't perfectly (but covers the seat backs 100%). So I guess I've fanned out the sections at the seat backs a little. Does that make sense? Confused

Yeah I found the same - if I fanned out the three seat back covers then it didn’t form a single overlapped cover and had gaps.

With a light coloured carpet, I wanted it to be as protected as much as reasonably practicable.

It’s a shame as the cover could fit properly, they’ve just mounted the Velcro wrong.

You can buy (fleabay) Velcro for less than a quid a metre. Needle and cotton - 5 mins, will do the same myself. Thumbs Up

The Mrs has offered to do that, so will go down that route.

Just posted this here to see if I was alone or if it was the same on all these covers - as the manufacturer clearly thinks they’re perfect.

Sounds like yours is slightly more out of tolerance than mine,as I have no gap at the back seats and acceptable contact on the seat leavers. That said I'd give you a 20 for the extra padded set you now own Rolling with laughter
Edit - against site rules and probably different (but equally poor-ish) fit to D3
