Unknown icon on Satnav
Today whilst chauffering SWMBO around town i noticed an umbrella warning icon on the satnav. SWMBO pulled out the sat nav handbook but said its not in there, i thought it might be a warning for flooded area but the area wasn't flooded and hasn't been for a few years. Has anyone got any idea what it stands for.POT NOODLE NAVIGATION CHALLENGE 2010 WINNER

While a rare sighting they tend to gather in herds when they do appear end of an era ....... maybe a Defender when it appears.......
The only time I've had the little red umbrella was when driving in very heavy rain on the motorway, ISTR that they come on when the TMC is on and there are warnings of poor visibility.

When it was on it wasn't raining but had been. However with most TMC warnings i tend to find that they would of been put out a good time before and left there. (if that makes sense)

TMC info is only as good as the person / company managing the info, if it shows on the LR screen, it'll also be on other TMC-capable screens....
BTW, TMC now works on the French Autoroutes pretty accurate and (appears to be) updated regularly - unlike UK

is this an EU thing only? Not sure my fitted satnav system can do this. What's TMC?2013 LR4 HSE lux | Santorini Black | 5.0 V8
It's Traffic Management Control, I think it picks up traffic information from the radio and with some electrickery, places the information on the Sat Nav
Don't know if it's an EU thing only.As you slide down the banister of life

Ok so I have a FFRR but I think the premum nag is the same and with mine if you have a route programed in and there is an incident or obstruction it will work out an alternative and ask you if you want to take it. Also if you press the icon when it comes up on the top left of the screen it will say what it is.Wander over here to see how the other half live
