Upper tailgate adjustment

Has anyone had to have the upper tailgate adjusted due to having to slam it harder than normal?

If you have did you see it being done and was it easy?

My new one takes a lot more of a push than my old one, don't really want the 40 mile round trip to the dealer if it is a 2 minute job.

T'is easy, pull the rubber surround off of the upper tailgate part of the catch, get a 10mm socket and loosen the two bolts, adjust, tighten and see if it's any better. If not repeat until it is

Be careful not to loosen it off too much or you will get an infuriating rattle over every bump. I had mine adjusted because it was rattling like that and it became hard to shut like yours, after a few weeks though it loosened off and has been fine ever since.
