Urgent Help - Car Transporter, A-frame wanting to borrow
Sods law , just sold my towing A-frame and now had a call from my father saying his car is knackered and on the drive at a garage near a friends house, miles from home (Baschurch/Shrewsbury) - radiatior and cylinder head knackered. He hasnt got recovery so is a bit stuck and garage is going to start charging storage
does anyone have a car transporter trailer or an A-frame in the Brisol - Shropshire(Highley) - Baschurch (Shrewsbury)area that i could borrow Tomorrow (Saturday 24th) please.
Its a long shot but this forum has a habit of performing miracles Duncan

Al thought about hiring, but the hire charges for a weekend would be more that the car is worth
bought a "strong arm" towing rod from machine mart so hopefully that will be ok

does anybody have Personal Breakdown Cover who you know?
maybe they could be with your dad, and be recovered back to you, for free and saves hiring a trailer etc

paganuk has offered but i dont want to inconvenience anyone to drag them out of bed tomrrow AM.
I think the tow arm should be OK. its rated at 2000kgs and the car is 1500Kgs - it will be a bumpy ride though as the air suspension has lowered.. Duncan

well managed to get hime home - the recovery bar (2000kgs) from Machine mart broke , right in the middle of Shrewsbury and at the same time ripped his recovery point off the front of the car. at the same time it ripped trailer board cable to bits and his wing mirror off in the process
Then had to tow him all the way on a tow rope. which is very interesting when the towed car has no brakes - apparently he said he ran into the back of me twice and i didnt even notice
anyone interested in an "M" reg xantia 1.9D with 170,000 miles - before he sends it to the scrap yardDuncan
